Our History

Gene Van Remmen, restaurant owner, has been in the restaurant business for over 50 years. His career began back in 1953 as a bus boy at Dutchland Dairy store. Since then, he has managed many restaurants and served as Vice President of Operations for a restaurant chain until opening his own restaurant: Traditional Pancake House. At one point Van Remmen owned three Traditional Pancake Houses! Today, there is only one restaurant operating.

Traditional Pancake House is truly a family restaurant. Van Remmen and his wife still own and operate the restaurant. His wife Judie is the Hostess while daughter Sandra manages and oversees the day to day operations of the restaurant. Between the three, they fulfill the vision of operating a family oriented restaurant with high-quality food at affordable prices.
